LG Electronics has unveiled latest Flagship device – the LG G5 today at MWC2016 in Barcelona. The highly anticipated smartphone features a 5.3-inch display with the semi-modular design. To remind you it has exactly same design which was leaked on twitter a day before by @evleaks.

LG has reduced the screen size on this year’s Flagship as the LG G5 comes with 5.3-inch (compare to 5.5-inch on G4) Quad HD IPS Quantum Display which has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 that offers a pixel density of 554 PPI. The smartphone features an Always-on display that shows time, date and battery status continuously, even while the screen is in sleep mode. LG claims, the Always-on Display requires only 0.8 percent of the battery’s power every hour to operate.

Talking about the specifications, it is powered by Qualcomm’s latest beast – Snapdragon 820 with 4GB LPDDR4 RAM. The device comes with 32GB internal storage with microSD card slot that supports memory up to 2TB. The LG G5 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. On the camera front, instead of offering dual selfie camera as seen on LG V10, the device comes with dual rear camera setup. One camera has 75-degree FoV with a 16-megapixel sensor and the second camera has wider 135-degree viewing angle with an 8-megapixel sensor. There is an 8-megapixel front camera for selfie shots. There is fingerprint scanner below dual camera setup at the back.

The G5 packs 2800 mAh removable battery with Quick Charge 3.0 which is 27 percent faster and up to 45 percent more efficient than the previous generation. It also features Low Power Location Estimation (LPLE) Technology which enhances the battery efficiency by as much as 42 percent by improving the power consumption related to location-based apps.

LG has unveiled 2 additional modules, the CAM Plus and the Hi-Fi Plus with B&O Play. The LG CAM Plus can be attached the battery slot to deliver a comfortable grip. The LG CAM Plus provides physical buttons for power, shutter, record, zoom and it also provides an additional battery capacity of 1,200mAh. The LG Hi-Fi Plus with B&O Play is an innovative portable Hi-Fi DAC audio player developed in collaboration with B&O Play. In addition to the up-sampling technology that was embedded for the 32-bit Hi-Fi DAC on the previously-introduced V10, the LG Hi-Fi Plus with B&O Play actually supports 32-bit, 384KHz high-definition audio playback. LG Hi-Fi Plus with B&O Play can be used either as a module with the LG G5 or as a separate Hi-Fi DAC by connecting to any smartphone or PC.
