YU’s Flagship device Yutopia with 2k display & 4GB RAM launched at Rs.24999

It has been 1 year since YU Televentures launched their first device Yureka, and since then their all devices (Yureka, Yureka Plus, Yuphoria & Yunique) were budget oriented and priced well below Rs.10000. This time YU decided to try mid range segment with all metal unibody design smartphone. After lots of teasing and taunting at other large OEMs like Samsung & Apple, today Micromax co-founder Mr. Rahul Sharma unveiled Yutopia with Flagship specs at Rs.24999. The device is up for pre-orders and will be available from December 26th exclusively on Amazon India. YU announced back in October that are coming with Most Powerful phone on the planet, so lets have a look at specifications of Yutopia.

 Yutopia Design, Build and Display

 All metal unibody Yutopia is build with Aircraft grade aluminum and has kept Symmetrical design which was introduced with Yuphoria. The Antenna bands have also been integrated into the metal chassis. The 5.2 inch WQHD (2560 X 1440) OGS display made by SHARP is protected by Corning Concore glass which has pixel density of 565 pixels. Dimensions of the device are 147 X 73 X 7.2 mm and it weighs 159 grams. The device sports the consistent Saturn Rings (main camera, 3 element key (volume and power key on right), seamless and ergonomic designand on left there is hybrid sim slot. YU has also included Fingerprint sensor on the device at the back below camera.

Hardware

It is powered by Octa core Snapdragon 810 (2.0 GHz A57 Quad core + 1.5 GHz A53 Quad core) with Adreno 430 GPU. The smartphone has 4GB DDR4 RAM

Software

The smartphone is running on Cyanogen 12.1 based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and promised to upgrade to Marshmallow soon as Cyanogen is working on it. YU also announced their new search service called AroundYU in which YU is offering discounts on OLA Cabs, Zomato & Ixigo.

Storage

It has 32 GB internal storage out of which approx. 22 GB is available to user on first boot. Memory can be expanded via SD card (on 2nd sim slot) up to 128 GB.

Sim and Connectivity

Dual sim (micro + nano) device supports 4G LTE in India and as it has hybrid sim slot, if you want to expand memory, you can use only 1 sim at a time.

 Camera

The Yutopia comes with 21 megapixel (Sony Exmor RS IMX230 sensor) camera with PDAF, OIS, Blue Glass filter and dual tone LED flash. It can record 4k video at 30fps, 1080p video at 60fps and slow motion video at 120 fps. With PDAF it takes just 0.2 sec to focus. It has 8 megapixel (OV8865) wide angle front camera with f/2.2 aperture for selfie.  You can also tap Fingerprint sensor to take selfie pictures.

Battery

Yutopia packs 3000 mAh Li-Po battery with Quick Charge 2.0. It can charge from 0 to 60% in 30 mins and 100% in about an hour. It can provide 8 hours of talk time and standby time of up to 300 hours.

Sensors

The Smartphone comes with all major sensors like Accelerometer, 6-axis Gyroscope, Light sensor, Proximity sensor, Barometer, e-Compass, and Hall Sensor.
