Xiaomi has launched it’s first Made in India smartphone Redmi 2 Prime for Rs.6999. Currently Xiaomi is importing components from China and assembling is done at Sri City plant in Andhra Pradesh.
Redmi 2 Prime has 4.7 inch 720p HD Fully laminated display. This dual sim device supports 4G network in India (FDD LTE Band-3 and TDD LTE Band-40). The smartphone is powered by Quad-core Snapdragon 410 with Adreno 306 GPU. Major upgrade over Redmi 2 comes in storage and RAM. This device has 16GB internal storage and 2GB RAM. Memory can be expanded up to 32GB via SD card. The smartphone is running on MIUI 6 based on Android 4.4 Kitkat.
Redmi 2 Prime sports 8MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and LED Flash where as front camera is of 2MP. Battery is of 2200 mAh capacity which is same as it was on Redmi 2.
