Asus Zenfone Max with 5000 mAh Battery launched in India at Rs.9999

Asus has launched a new Battery-centric smartphone in India, Asus Zenfone Max (ZC550KL), with 5000 mAh Battery. It was unveiled at ZenFestival in August this year. The device is available for Pre-order on Amazon and Flipkart, the phone will also be sold in retail stores starting 3rd week of January.

The device has a 5.5-inch display and it is surrounded by a striking metal-effect bezel and dimensions of the device are 156 X 77.5 X 10.55 mm and it weighs 202 grams. It has 16 GB internal storage with microSD card slot to expand memory up to 64 GB. It is powered by Octa-core Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) paired with Adreno 306 and 2 GB LPDDR3 RAM. The Zenfone Max is running on ZenUI 2.0 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop. It also features customizable gestures, like double tap to wake up.

USP of the smartphone is its 5000 mAh battery which is non-removable and Asus claims it can give you 38 days of standby time. It can deliver up to 37.6 hours of talk time, up to 32.5 hours of web browsing on WiFi and up to 22.6 hours of video playback. Other devices with large battery are Gionee Marathon M5 (6020 mAh) and Lenovo VIBE P1 (5000 mAh) priced at Rs.17999 & 15999 whereas the Zenfone Max is priced at just Rs.9999. It also supports reverse charging and can be used as a power bank to charge other devices using a USB on-the-go (OTG) cable.

For photography, it has 13-megapixel autofocus rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, Laser autofocus, dual tone LED flash and 5-megapixel (f/2.0) front facing camera with 85-degree field of view. The Asus Zenfone Max is dual sim device with 4G network support, Sim1 supports 4G and Sim2 supports 3G and 2G. Other connectivity features include WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and microUSB 2.0 port.

The Asus Zenfone Max is available for pre-order on Amazon and Flipkart for Rs.9999 in White and Black color options with estimated shipping date of January 15, 2016.
