After launching in China last month, Gionee has launched the Gionee Marathon M5 Lite in India priced at Rs.12999. The device is can be purchased in Golden color via the company’s website and it will be available in retail stores soon.

The Gionee Marathon M5 Lite features 5 inch HD IPS display with Dragontrail Glass protection. It is powered by 1.3 GHz Quad-core MediaTek MT6753 SoC paired with Mali-T720 GPU and 3 GB RAM. The M5 Lite comes with 32 GB internal memory which can be expanded via microSD card up to 128 GB.

It runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with Amigo UI 3.1 on top and it is a dual sim device with 4G LTE connectivity (TDD-LTE: B40, FDD-LTE: B1/B3/B7). Other connectivity attributes include WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, WiFi Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, FM Radio, 3.5mm audio jack, MicroUSB 2.0 and it also supports USB OTG.
In terms of camera, it features 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with CMOS sensor, LED flash and 5-megapixel front camera. Other camera features include Geo-Tagging, Panorama, HDR, Professional, Magic Focus, Face Beauty and Pic Note. It can record videos in Full HD 1080p.
USP of the device ( also of the Marathon series) is its 4000 mAh battery which can deliver the talk time of up to 32 hours on 2G and 19 hours on 3G whereas standby time of up to 450 hours on 2G and 400 hours on 3G network. The Marathon M5 Lite also supports Reverse Charging. The smartphone has all the basic sensors like Proximity Sensor, G-Sensor, E-Compass, Motion Sensor and Light Sensor.
The Gionee Marathon M5 Lite comes pre-loaded with apps like Du Battery Saver, GioneeXender, Whatsapp, Facebook, Du Speed Booster, Mood Card, GStore, Snapdeal and WPS Office. The smartphone is available on Gionee website for Rs.12999.
