HMD Global, a Finnish company who acquired rights of using Nokia Brand for Mobile phones & Tablets, today announced its first Nokia Smartphone, the Nokia 6. The device will be exclusive to China only and it will be available in early 2017 through JD.com (one of the largest B2C online retailers in China).
First Android-based Nokia Smartphone – Nokia 6 features 5.5-inch Full HD IPS LCD display with 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3. The unibody design is built from 6000 series aluminium with 2 separate anodising processes. It is made from It is powered by Octa-core Snapdragon 430 processor with X6 LTE modem. The Nokia 6 comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage with SD card support up to 128GB. It is running on latest Android Nougat.
The Nokia 6 comes with 16MP (f/2.0) rear camera with Phase detection autofocus and dual LED flash. It also features 8MP (f/2.0) front camera for Selfie shots. The device also comes with built-in power amplifier chip (TFA9891) and dual speakers with Dolby Atmos Technology. The dual amplifiers deliver a 6dB louder sound than a regular amp.
The device comes with 3000 mAh non-removable battery which is slightly disappointing for 5.5-inch FHD display but the company claims it has better battery management with the help of latest Android’s Doze technology.
The Nokia 6 comes with all the necessary sensors such as Light Sensor, Proximity, Accelerometer, e-compass, gyroscope and Hall sensor. Other connectivity features include 3.5mm headphone jack, microUSB 2.0 and it also features Fingerprint Sensor.
